On July 23, we broke ground on the expansion of SECU Caring House. This milestone marks a new chapter in our mission to provide affordable lodging and a supportive environment for cancer patients receiving treatment at Duke Cancer Institute.
More than 70 supporters, partners, and friends gathered to celebrate this moment, including representatives from Duke Cancer Institute, SECU Foundation, and members of our Board of Directors. It was a joyful and meaningful day, filled with gratitude and hope for what’s ahead.
During the ceremony, we also unveiled our new name and look: SECU Caring House. This rebranding honors the transformational challenge grant from SECU Foundation and the generosity of credit union members across North Carolina. While our look may be new, our heart remains the same.
Together, we’re building a future where healing feels like home.
